I got this so that I did not have to update my surround sound. It is simple and works perfectly for what I needed it for. It is small and matched the rest of my set up.

4 Stars hated my digital cable box
Well, I thought that this switcher was broken when I had set it up because I had no picture when set the input that my digital cable box was plugged into. But, after changing some cords around and plugging the cable box directly to the tv, switching with the PS3 that was directly plugged in, my xbox 360 and PS3 both work perfectly through the switcher. B/C of the difficulty I had, 4 stars.

5 Stars This thing is great!!
I was a little skeptical at first. I had used the old a/v switches in the past. So I was worried about signal loss. There is nothing to worry about! No signal loss at all. I have multiple inputs, but I have a lot of devices too. I hooked up an upscaling region free PAL/NTSC DVD player that also plays other formats to one input and a Playstation 3 to another. I have room for a third device. Everything looks perfect, no problems. I also have a computer with HDMI to DVI and a DVR, hence my need for the switch. Plus my component inputs have a PS2 and Wii on them.

This is the device to get. It comes with a little remote and everything. Do not buy extra HDMI cables, this one comes with them. They are a little short though (3 feet I think), so you might need a longer one in certain situations. If you need to hook up multiple things with HDMI, buy this. You will like it.

1 Star Unusable. Get the auto switch instead.
The idea is good, the price is great and most of the reviews are super. But you can get the automatic switch version for about the same price (I did after buying this) and it is super. I couldn’t figure out why I was getting what appeared to be interference in all my videos running off a WD Passport drive. I even bought new HDMI cables thinking that was it. There were bright sparkles moving across the screen in all frames. No matter what I tried, they were always there and made the movies unwatchable. After I received the auto switch no more sparkles. Beautiful clear picture and it really does switch to the active source automatically. This is the one you want: 3 Port Smart Auto HDMI Switch

I might have just gotten a defective one with bad circuitry, but I suspect I will have a very hard time getting a refund as the warranty return insert that comes with the first unit has so many exclusions that unless your unit is eaten by an aardvark, you probably are out of luck. Be prepared to be out your purchase price.
