4 Stars LG is pretty sweet
I bought this. Picture quality is nice and the size is perfect for our TV viewing room.
5 Stars Amazing
This tv is simply amazing. Incredible picture and colors. Pair this up with a blu-ray player and watch in awe.
1 Star Smashed screen – check before accepting
I did a LOT of research and I firmly believe this is the best screen for the price point at this time, however when it arrived (after 7 days) the screen was smashed to pieces. The delivery guys tried to get me to sign as soon as they carried it into the apartment and seemed very shocked (and annoyed) that I wanted to open to check the screen, and it’s very lucky that I did.
Amazon couldn’t deliver another for 7 days, so I went to a local store and picked up a different model with same day delivery (47 inch LG LCD which I am more than happy with).
4 Stars Excellent design, good features, better-than-LCD images.
I read many reviews for Plasma’s and LCD’s. I ended up wondering why anyone buys LCD’s larger than 45″ or so. I was very impressed witn the Panny’s such as the S1 and G10, but this LG ahs proven to be much more than adequate and cost 3 to 4 hundred less than I could find comparable Panny.
PROS: Great exterior design, best I’ve seen for this size plasma. Bright panel with good color, THX mode for movies, Sport setting for sports. Colors have a lot of “pop.” I haven’t done a close examination, but It appears that black levels don’t meet the top-of-the-market levels for plasma, but clearly out performs even much more expensive LCD.
CONS: Huh. All I can think to say is if you spend much more money you might see relatively small increases in image quality. I don’t think most people would find the differences noticable. Oh, the speakers are adequate but aren’t going to impress anybody.
5 Stars Great purchase !!!!!!!
This tv is a great purchase ! It is a perfect size and has great picture quality all for a good price. I’m glad I made this purchase.

5 Stars good television at a great price…
Me and my wife shopped around a lot before we decided to buy a new tv. We seen a lot of good tv’s at decent prices, but most of them did not have the hook-up for the pc. The G10 is everything we were looking for in a new tv, and Amazon gave it to us at the best price. We are very pleased with the picture quality and the sound quality of the HD.
5 Stars Good Product for a Good Price
I’ve had the TV for about 6 months now, and it’s working like a champ. There is little to no glare from the screen, the 1080p pictures is sharp and clear (with a little adjusting in the setup menu) and the viewing angles are perfect. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a low profile, 1080p screen.
5 Stars Best flat panel HDTV you can buy for anywhere near the price!
I recently bought this tv and the experience has been great all around. The tv itself is completely amazing. The picture quality is jaw dropping, with beautiful colors, deep blacks and amazingly vivid detail. I have seen lots of other HDTVs (including ones I have owned) and this tv beats them all hands down. I really couldn’t be happier with the quality of the picture this tv produces. All of the reviews were spot on in this regard.
The external aesthetic look of the tv is also very nice. It looks classy and the build quality seems a step above.
The experience of ordering from Amazon was simply a pleasure. I ordered the tv on a Monday night and received it early Thursday morning, only a little over two days later. I couldn’t believe how fast it got to me. The price was great and the tv got to me in perfect condition. Amazon is the best.
I couldn’t be happier with the tv or the buying experience. A+++
5 Stars incredible 5 stars doesnt do the picture justice
wow anyone considering plasma line put the specs on this up against almost any 1600 to 2800 $ tv and you will be blown away 600 mhz 2,000,000 dynamic contrast ratio i went to the store to look at 240 mhz led backlit lcds saw pixels and motion blur with only a 50,00 hour screen life vs panny’s 100,00 hour a complete no brainer bought through amazon love u guys oh and and few things not mentioned online seems to have volume leveling no more chasing volume buttons on commercials and digital optical audio out also firmware updates available via ethernet cord worried about that but didn’t need to congratulations panasonic only reason 4 stars for ease of use is onboard buttons sort of awkward location behind right side edge of panel need to kind of lean around the edge to see what u r doing probably just take some getting used to ALSO IF YOU PLUG THIS TV INTO A UNGROUNDED OUTLET AFTER YOUR FIRMWARE UPDATE IE TO GET ONLINE IT WILL LOCKUP COMPLETELY

5 Stars 54 inches of Digital Pleasure
I ordered this Panasonic TC54 G10 on Saturday morning and it arrived on the following Thursday (4 days ahead of schedule). The delivery service from Amazon (Pilot) was excellent. I arrived home to find the TV sitting on my stand, hooked-up to my components (tip the delivery guys) and ready to provide a substantial upgrade over my 720P 42 inch set from Samsung. I bought the Samsung 2 years ago and was quite happy with it but was drawn to the 54 inch panel and the 1080P resolution. Truth be told, I felt a little guilty about making this particular purchase.
Until I turned on the new set. The size of the razor-sharp image was a jaw-dropping delight. This set has an immersive quality that must be seen to be appreciated. The screen seems to be about twice the size of the 42 inch panel. The jump to 1080P was a second huge improvement as I watch Blu-Ray and sports.
Other users have commented on the sound being less than great. It might be but I don’t know because I have the Panasonic connected to a high quality 5:1 surround sound set-up in my man cave. A TV of this dimension absolutely demands this.
The color adjustment from the remote takes a little tweaking but there are multiple pre-sets.
I have not connected the set to the Internet as I don’t feel that this is a pressing need. Maybe later…..
The deal on set from Amazon included an effectively free Panasonic Blu-Ray player. At $1544 for both with free delivery I could not justify not taking the bait. This set also was universally well-reviewed including a best buy selection from Consumer Reports.
As with anything in this digital age, there will always be something better and cheaper six months down the road but then the six months pass and the statement is still true….
I cannot imagine that the Panasonic 54G10 will fade quickly in my estimation. A great plasma that delivers a very satisfying shot of digital satisfaction. For now, this set offers a sweet-spot in the cost/benefit continuum. My buyer’s guilt is gone….
5 Stars Excellent TV
I have now had my set for about a month. Straight out of the box the picture was stunning. I applied some custom picture settings as per avsforum suggestions and I am exceptionally happy. After about a month now it seems the set has really warmed up and the picture seems even more rich and stunning. The overall size of 54 inches is just right for my room, not too big, definitely not too small. I was on the fence for a year to upgrade and almost bought the 58″ panny last year. I am glad I waited as I think the 58 would have been a bit too large. About my only complaint is that I am really having a hard time loving ANYTHING in SD now. Since everything is that much bigger, SD content is just not acceptable anymore. Hopefully Dish will continue to upgrade my HD offerings. Some HD feeds are obviously of inferior quality to others. My locals, for instance, sometimes are not up to par, vs ESPN which always seems to have a stunning HD feed.
I was a little surprised to know that this unit has no cooling fans, but so far heat coming off the unit has been minimal and not concerning. Actually a fan might have increased the noise at low volumes. I have read others who dislike the sound from the set, but I think it is acceptable. I did not like the bass boost option as it added an unnatural electronic hum to peoples voices, so with that off the sound is fine to me. I do occasionally run it through my receiver for regular TV viewing, but not usually. I connected the tv through my broadband connection and find the VieraCast feature interesting but is not something I use regularly by any means. Maybe this will improve with future updates or as new content is made available. It took a little experimenting to find which picture mode I like best, but overall I use a Custom mode to view sports, and the THX mode to watch most everything else.
Great TV, you won’t be dissapointed by purchasing this. Panasonic continues to be a leader in plasma technology!
5 Stars Easy set up.
Usually most products do not meet all the PR that is on the box – however, this G10 is all it is supposed to be and more!
5 Stars Fantastic TV in all aspects
TV arrived as promised by Amazon.com. Delivery guys did the setup and connected to the source (satellite HD) and even volunteered to take the shipping container. TV works well with amazing picture quality. I have had the TV for just 2 days now and am still playing with all the controls. Thus far my PS3, Wii and HD receiver all work well with stunning picture quality and sound. I am quite happy with the purchase and overall shopping experience at Amazon.
Great buy! I don’t think anybody will be disappointed with this purchase. Quality product from Panasonic.
5 Stars Great TV, Great Value
In my opinion, this TV gives the best price to performance ratio available today. The 54″ size is perfect. You know it’s a BIG screen, but not too big. I researched ad nauseum and am very picky about my electronics. This TV has met or exceeded my expectations in every way. No problems with Amazon’s delivery contractor either.

5 Stars Great Picture
This TV has a great picture. I did a lot of research before selecting plasma. I really don’t have problems with it being too dim, looks great. Lots of threads on [...] about how to break in and change picture settings to get best looking picture. Amazon customer service is great! If you are on the fence go for it!
4 Stars Fantastic tv with fantastic price
im really happy with this plasma for how much i paid for it, the color is AMAZING, the THX take you movie watching experience to the next level.
4 Stars Solid TV
Overall I’m pretty happy with my purchase of the Panasonic TC-P46G10. Sports (especially football and baseball games) look great on this thing. Movies look great too except the motion quality isn’t top notch. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good. But this is a G10 model, not a V10. Here are my pros/cons…
Pros:
- Competitive price.
- Excellent clarity and color quality.
- Great for gaming (very minor phosphour trails).
- Minimal Glare.
- Built-in burn-in retention (I fell asleep to a blu-ray and the menu screen was on the screen all night and there was not even a trace of burn-in).
Cons:
- Motion quality is not quite as smooth as 120hz or 240hz technology, or the V10’s 96hz.
- The 48hz feature is worthless, the flicker is unbearable.
- The screen smudges super easily, but fortunately comes with a special cloth to clean the screen.
Bottom line.. Great bang for your buck!
Hope this review helps someone.
5 Stars Great T.V.
46 inch Panasonic G10. I was able to schedule the delivery without extra cost and they set it up in just a few minutes. Amazing TV. Using ATT U-Verse TV and Internet. HD channels are simply amazing. For those buying from Amazon.com (which is what I recommend). Wait for the Panasonic Blu-ray special if that is important to you. It showed up 2-3 days after I purchased the T.V. Sometimes you have to click “reload” on your browser several times before it shows up in the “Special offers” section. A lot of other sites have this T.V. for a few bucks cheaper but Amazon’s customer service is probably the best, just in case you get a “bad” item. Great service, great price. Anyone will be pleased with this T.V.
5 Stars Gotta Love HDTV!
I love my Purchase. It looks great. The internal sound kinda sucks but when I get my external surround set up it will be fine. Great for TV and gaming.

4 Stars Don’t buy it for the black levels!!
Overall, a great TV at a great price. I’m not going to bore you with a bunch of positives you’ve read a hundred times, so I’ll just leave you with one caveat. Panasonic’s plasmas have a little known reputation of degrading contrast ratio over time. This is caused by the “black levels” or “minimum luminescence levels” inexplicably increasing with hours of use. That is to say the “color black” is nice and deep when the TV is new, but it becomes increasingly gray once you attain a few hundred hours of use. As of now, no one knows why this happens, or if it’s effecting every single unit, but it seems to be affecting a fair number of users both with these ‘09 models and several from prior years. You can read about the problem here: [...] It has unfortunately affected my unit, and it’s pretty noticeable. The Contrast Ratio was cut in half at about 400 hours of use and the TV now looks like an average quality LCD in a dark room.
5 Stars Great Television, Great Value
I won’t say I have tried every feature of this television, but the picture controls, the VieraCast, and HDMI input via DirecTV and DVD players, I have.
The most useful feature of the VieraCast I have found is the weather – great for quick local forecasts and radar map. In general, the switching while in VieraCast is a bit slow, although some of that could be due to internet response. Setting it up was very easy – plug it into a router/switch that supports DHCP, and you are up and running. YouTube videos do okay, though searching for the ones you want to see is quite rudimentary compared to what you can do on a computer with a real keyboard.
The picture controls are not extensive, but good enough for me to get the colors accurate with DirecTV signal.
The picture on this TV is amazing – both the HD and the SD channels. The refresh rate of plasma really takes care of most problems with sweeping scenes that I have seen on some LCDs. I have had a number of people say they wish they had bought this TV after seeing mine, so I figure that is pretty telling. I’ve been using it for close to five months without a hitch. Purchase and delivery through Amazon was fast and painless. The delivery person helped me un-box it, set it up, and even offered to take the box away (though I kept it).
I have been very satisfied with this purchase!
5 Stars Fantastic TV
Back in June, I was looking at the Panasonic TC-P50G10 and several Samsung LCD’s. I was pretty sold on the Panasonic since I have an older 42″ Panny Plasma that I have been very happy with. However, I took a trip to the local American TV store and I have to say I was more impressed with several Sony LCD’s hanging next to the Panny Plasma. They looked brighter and more “crisp” showing KungFu Panda.
I had a hard time deciding, but after reading many rave reviews of the Panasonic and much advice not to judge a TV in the showroom (AND a much smaller price tag than the Samsung AND a free BluRay player), I decided I couldn’t pass it up and got the TC-P50G10 from Amazon.
The TV was delivered by Pilot Freight. There was only 1 older gentleman delivering it and I had to help him carry the TV in, but otherwise no issues. I was very happy with the TV and the picture was fantastic. However, upon closer inspection, I noticed 1 dead pixel and 24 of what I would call “misaligned” pixels that were black from certain angles. Amazon was very helpful and agreed to send me a replacement. The TV was out of stock and I had to wait a couple months for delivery, but since I had the old TV, I didn’t mind at all.
A few weeks ago, I had the new TV delivered by CEVA – still 1 guy and I had to help him bring it in, but hey – at least I know he didn’t drop it that way.
The new TV is perfect – no dead pixels and the picture is fantastic (seems even better than the old one – may be the newer build date or just my imagination). In any case I seriously find myself watching the picture thinking – wow – that looks absolutely fantastic! and I have to rewind to see the part of the show I missed while I was oggling the picture.
I can’t compare it to the Samsung LCDs since I didn’t try them in home, but I am very pleased with the Panny. A couple things I can comment on: Many say the THX mode is too dim. I don’t agree – in a very few, very dark shows / movies it may be a little dim, but for the vast majority of shows it looks great – even during the day. Once the TV is totally broken in I may switch over to Custom mode, but for now I’m fine with THX.
Also, there are some complaints of flickering in the 24p mode at 48hz. I do see a little flickering in bright scenes at the biginning of the movie, but after a minute or so I don’t even notice it any more and I don’t think it is any worse than I see in a movie theater – ymmv. I do have to say though that I don’t see much improvement over the 60hz mode any way since it already looks great.
Burn-in issues are in my opinion not an issue any more. I’ve never had any permanent problems with my 3 year old 42″ plasma, but when I do weekly upgrades of my DirecTv software, the logo is on the screen for several minutes and I do notice the logo for a few seconds after the screen changes before it disappears. The new 50G10 does not have this at all – I haven’t seen even the slightest hint of image retention even in situations where the old TV does show it. I think you would have to seriously abuse the TV to have any issues at all. That said, if you are a serious gamer (I’m not), you probably want to take it easy the first 100 – 200 hours and vary the games you play every hour or so.
The anti-glare coating seems to be better than my old 42″ plasma as well. The lights from the other room that would sometimes reflect on the old TV’s screen are not noticable on the G10. I have the screen angled away from the window, so even in daylight, I don’t see any reflection issues.
I can’t comment on the speakers since I use a surround sound system.
Basically for the price – this TV is fantastic. I highly recommend it. Also, if you are buying, I highly recommend buying from Amazon (and not an Amazon merchant) since you get free in home delivery and the 30 return policy.
5 Stars VIERA G15 TC-P50G15
After reading countless reviews on many other products and manufacturers that delayed my purchase for a good month, I actually settled on the G10 50-inch unit. However the day I ordered on Amazon I received an email from the supplier telling me that the unit was out of stock and would not be available for at least 7-10 days. This was unacceptable given I was moving into a new home and wanted everything installed before furniture arrived but no problem. I had already saved over $300.00 on the purchase from this supplier and then they offered to upgrade me to the G15 at no additional charge for another $400.00 in savings. This was my first plasma purchase/experience and I must say I am still having fun playing with all the tweeks. I added the Panasonic 7.1 Blu Ray surround sound system and together with the television I am in viewing heaven. Great quality picture, very easy to use and set up and great value. The on board TV sound is good and provides a nice alternative when you want to keep things quiet in the house. But the ease of use with the integration of the 7.1 and BOOM, you are good to go. Since we are still in the process of moving in I have not connected the internet piece yet but am anxious to do so in the coming days ahead. But even without it I am extremely pleased.
5 Stars Excellent T.V., Very Happy, Sound Could Be Better
This T.V. is awesome, especially with a Blu Ray playing–it looks pretty much like film; just awesome. Make sure you grab some HDMI cables to get full resolution…..the cheapies they sell here at amazon work just great & there are several postings here & on the net in general saying that its useless & a rip-off to pay for expensive brand name cables—I, for on, found this to be a very good $$$ saving tip. My T.V. & Blu Ray player connected with the cheapie cables I bought here for a couple bucks works great.
Sports & T.V. are Excellent provided that the broadcast/signal is in 1080….720 broadcast/signal & normal DVD’s look good, but anything under that is not too much fun. Not sure why the Fox network does not go up to 1080 like the other networks.
Be aware that plasma technology is slated to be phased out, but soon to be obsolete or not, I love this T.V. & think it is superior to the LCD’s & would buy again w/o hesitation.
