5 Stars Great for the price
Mount is great. Easy to install. Looks nice on the wall. They give you a bunch of hardware, so there is a screw to fit any size TV.
I’d recommend this product. I’m buying another soon for another TV.
5 Stars Solid construction, low profile
While I was researching mounts for my Panasonic 42″ plasma, I saw many comments about how such and such a mount did not contain the right hardware for their TV. I thought, how many types of screws and bolts can there be? Well apparently there are several. The Peerless mount came with several bags of different kinds of hardware, all of varying sizes and lengths. A quick lookup on their website told me which bag to open for my TV. Now, while I didn’t need any of the other types of bolts, that attention to detail gave me confidence in the product I had purchased.
The metal construction of this mount is solid. After using a stud finder to locate the studs behind my drywall, I attached the mount with the huge screws it came with. Now my TV is solidly connected to the wall and not even a California earthquake could move this guy.
That being said, once mounted the TV is easy to take off the wall should you need to plug in something new. The vertical brackets you see in the product photo are separate pieces from the horizontal rectangular frame. You attach the vertical brackets to the back of your TV, and the rectangular frame is what gets attached to the wall. Tilting the bottom of the TV away from the wall allows you to lift it off of the frame it hangs on. Just make sure you have a friend to help. My wife and I can easily lift our Panasonic 42″ plasma off and on with this method. Presumably for added theft protection, the mount comes with some bolts that actually fasten the bottom of the TV to the mount so it requires a special tool to remove.
I should also mention that the mount came with two choices of brackets to use. One set puts the TV closer to the wall, while the other adds about an extra inch of space. This is helpful in case you need to create more room for the cables that plug into the back of your TV.
5 Stars Great mount
I was able to mount my 42 inch LCD alone in 20 minutes including time to open up the box and remove stand from TV. And yes, I never mounted the TV before.
Installation is very straightforward and consists of 3 steps:
1. Decide where you gonna hang it and find 2 studs around the center. (It can be off-center mounted to some extend).
2. Pre-drill holes and screw the frame with supplied screws.
3. Pick of 2 (thin or little bit thicker) vertical bars, screw them to the back of your TV (they included very nice set of screws, so you can easily find matching there) and hang the TV to the frame.
4. Optionally you can tighten security bolts on the bars.
There is only one trick – hook cables to TV before going to step #3. The rest is straightforward.
The final result looks sturdy enough and it can hold me in addition to TV
One hint about sizing: Don’t get to either end when choosing mount for your TV. E.g. it’s not the best idea to hang 32 or 60 inch TVs on this one:
* If TV is too small you’ll see frame sticking from under the TV.
* If TV is too big there is a good chance that it will not fit.
So, this is great mount for TVs between 37 and 55 inches inclusive (for 58 and up try to get next model which spans 3 studs – seeing how easy it was I’m thinking to mount my main 60 inch plasma too)
5 Stars Easy to install and mount…
I installed this and mounted a 50″ Plasma TV in under 30 minutes… it holds very well…
5 Stars Just what I was looking for ….
We just bought the Samsung LED TV that has the ultra-slim design but the Ultra Slim wall mount from Samsung is $250 so I decided to get this Peerless for $60 and my TV looks great. You can not see the rack, it is super slim too.
