Great product. The hardest thing about assembling this item is the unpacking and that was very easy. All the hardware plus comes with this product to insure immediate assembly and mounting of the different size flat panel TVs as advertised. My only criticism is the lack of cover to hide all the equipment cables and surge protector that end up on the floor behind the unit. A little more thought in design would have made this unit perfect. Looks great and the shinny piano finish (high gloss black) gives this beautifully designed piece the look that it deserves.

2 Stars Looks good, but that’s about it
I bought this at Circuit City, to go with my new Sony Bravia S-Series KDL-40S4100 40-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. I was assured that it was universal and would work perfectly well with the TV I bought; apparently the sales rep had no clue what he was talking about.

First off, the assembly instructions are terrible, and the mounting instructions are even worse. It comes with far more pieces than you’ll use, and the instructions are often vague about which pieces are which. I ended up having to backtrack during the assembly process (not much, but enough to be annoying) a few times, which meant disassembling something after realizing I had done it incorrectly.

The mounting instructions, because they are “universal,” are ambiguous and confusing. You get literally no visual cues about which pieces to use. It says things like, “Determine which piece is appropriate for your TV,” and then moves on to the next step. I don’t know how we’re meant to determine which parts are appropriate, since the included parts aren’t listed or labeled. I ended up having to use trial and error to determine which of the many types of screws and brackets I’d need to use. I only actually needed two brackets and a handful of screws, out of the dozens of pieces in the assembly kit.

This could be forgiven if the mounting kit were truly universal. It’s not. Although my TV is now mounted, the mounting bracket juts out in front of all my connection ports. Two HDMI ports, the VGA port, and all the composite ports are rendered practically useless by this piece. There’s a space of about two inches between the bracket and the ports, so some connectors have just enough room to fit, but others (like a VGA cable) don’t. And for the ones that do fit, I have to insert them at an angle, coming into the port with a swooping motion. Once they’re in, I’m scared to try to pull them out for fear of damaging the ports, since it’s impossible to pull them straight out. The only other option is to unmount the TV and remove the bracket every time you want to plug in or unplug a device, and you may find remounting impossible once you plug in certain devices.

(This could, of course, be Sony’s not-so-subtle hint that you should buy one of their mounting brackets instead of something like this. But I’m not aware of a stand/shelving unit combo made by Sony, and I don’t want my TV mounted to the wall.)

The stand itself is a little wobbly once you’ve got it all assembled. This is true even without a TV mounted on it. Not only do the back feet not hit the ground, but the glass shelves are attached by a single screw at the center in the back. The rubber stoppers don’t do much to keep them in place if you accidentally bump into the unit (or if, say, you have cats that like to jump on all your furniture).

Dense instructions and flimsiness aside, this thing does what it’s supposed to do. It’ll mount a wide range of TVs, and it has shelves for your other devices. But the idea of a universal mount, it seems to me, is not practical, and I wish I’d bought a non mounting unit and just used the base stand that came with my TV. Either do that or use a wall mount. There is no advantage to having your TV mounted on one of these things.

Look at this fellows amazon considers this the low item price but in all actuality it is just a ploy to get you to possibly buy ths and other reatiler is charging 275 and up and maybe 25.00 for shipping and handeling bt now these people are selling it for 190+ 99.99 for shipping probably to keep amazon from making any money or to sway people to them to buy threw them as far as i am concerned this is just down right trickery and deceat..

3 Stars Glass Shelves have a lot of deflection
The pruduct looks nice with nothing on the shelves, solidly supports the TV, and was not diffucult to put together. My problem with the product is the two glass shelves. Both deflect (sag) at the center of the shelf. This occures slightly under their own weight, but set a cable box on one and stereo reciever on another as I have, and this deflection is obvious and can be seen across the room. Each shelf is rated for 65 lb, I would guess that I have less than 10 lb on each and am experiencing this problem. It would be great with heavier duty shelves.

4 Stars Looks great & easy to assemble
After seeing many other tiems, I decided to purchase this stand for my Samsung 46″ flat screen and miscellaneuos components. I was very pleasantly surprised when I was able to put it all together in about 1 hour. The only part I needed help with was mounting the tv as it takes 2 people. It is well worth the price, nothing was broken or damaged.

5 Stars Contempory Look, Many options.
I was looking for a stand to mount my new 52″ Sony LCD, and this item from Amazon looked sharp and had a good price.

A tip of my hat to the reviewer who assembled this in 1 hour – it took me closer to 3, but admittedly I am no handyman.

It did take two people to mount the TV once the stand was mostly assembled, but I guess with some imagination a person could do it alone. I would not want to risk damaging my new $1500 TV.

Since I know my limitations, I took my time, read the directions carefully, with very few missteps. The extra hardware included would make it possible to mount virtually any kind of flat panel TV; LCD or plasma. I’ve seen it advertised for a mount for a 46″ TV, but my 52″ looks great, and this stand is heavy and solid enough to support a TV several inches larger.

The metal and fiberboard top is pained a shiny black, and the finish really does look like it could be on a piano. The glass shelves offer plenty of room and sturdiness for any components you might want to add, and the horizontal swivel is a big plus.

There are of a variety of mounting heights. The bottom of my TV is the minimum 24″ off the floor, but it could have gone about a foot higher.

The price does fluctuate. I paid closer to 2 Bens than 3, and I would recommend watching it until it hits that price point, with free shipping.

This item is made in China.

2 Stars Ordering from 6ave was a hassle
I ordered a TV stand from this company and the estimated date of delivery was supposed to be between March 5 and March 10. March 9 rolls around and I still had not received any shipping confirmation. I emailed them wanting to know when I would be receiving my item. 6ave replies to my email with a vague response- Something like, sorry for the delay, your item is being processed and will ship soon and you’ll get a confirmation once it’s shipped. Mind you, they already charged my credit card. March 13 rolls around and still no stand. This is 3 days after the estimated shipping date. At that point I would have been able to file an XYZ claim with Amazon. So I emailed 6ave again to let them know that I still haven’t received anything and that I would be filing the claim. They said that unfortunately, I wouldn’t be getting my TV stand until sometime during the week of March 16. They gave no explanation for the delay. At that point I didn’t want the item anymore. So they said they’d intercept the package and give me a refund. A week later I hadn’t received any credit on my credit card. I emailed them again and they said that they have to wait for the item to return to them before they can process the refund and that it would be another week until they receive the stand back. Whatever. I finally got my refund from them a few days ago. I would not order from this company again. It’s not worth the hassle. I feel that they don’t inform customers of delays or shipping info unless you push them for any sort of answer. The up-side was that they did respond quickly to me complaints and I did eventually get my money back.
